The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is a story-driven role-playing game and the second chapter of the Crossbell duology, continuing directly after the events of Trails from Zero. Players return as Lloyd Bannings, leader of the Special Support Section, as the city-state of Crossbell pushes toward independence while caught between two powerful neighboring nations. Political tension rises as old allies and new threats emerge around the city’s future.

The game uses a turn-based battle system built around positioning, where character placement on the field affects attacks and support. Each party member brings unique Crafts and powerful S-Craft finishing moves, while the Master Quartz system lets players customize Arts and passive bonuses to shape every build.
