Resident Evil 5 takes the series to West Africa, where BSAA operatives Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar follow the trail of a bioterror weapons deal into the town of Kijuju. The locals have been infected with a new parasite that makes them faster and more aggressive than anything the agents have faced before, and the investigation soon points to a global conspiracy involving the Uroboros virus.

Combat mixes over-the-shoulder shooting with close-range melee finishers, letting players stun enemies and follow up with powerful physical attacks. Sheva can be directed with simple partner commands or controlled by a second player online, and keeping each other healed is the key to surviving tougher encounters. Chapters are packed with hidden BSAA emblems to find and end-of-level grades that reward skilled play, giving the campaign strong replay value beyond the story.
